Dual and multi-use small electronics are great, but how about a cell phone that doubles as a heart monitor? It’s not as crazy as it sounds. Nokia has announced the Nokia N79 Active, including the Polar Bluetooth WearLink. The addition of high-end Polar heart rate belt makes N79 Active not just able to keep active people entertained on those long workouts, but lets them know exactly how they’re doing in their training.
The perfect running companion, the Nokia N79 Active will be able to record and publish your favorite routes and fitness data on the web, as well as upload and geotag route images taken with the Nokia N79 Active’s built-in 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. It also plays music, storing up to 4 GB worth, and you can add tracks via the Nokia Music store. Oh yes, and it’s also a phone, so if you do happen to keep over while jogging, somebody’s going to know about it pretty much instantaneously. The Nokia N79 Active will be released in select markets only for a price of just under $500.
